Ingredients
3 egg yolks
2 T lemon juice (Kaye used more)
Pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 t salt
1/2 c butter
Blend first 4 ingredients.
Dribble hot bubbling butter into mixture.
Keep warm by pouring into glass jar and setting on stove or in hot water.
May freeze to keep.
*Jesse's note: This is such a simple recipe, and not from anyone in the family. But it is one that will forever remind me of my mother. We ALWAYS had this with some sort of veggie (usually steamed broccoli or asparagus) on holidays and other special occasions. Which usually meant Eggs Benedict or Blackstone the next morning...assuming there was any leftover from dinner.
